Port Roofing has been protecting commercial buildings across Texas and the Gulf Coast since 1963. What started as a small, family-owned operation has grown into one of the region’s most trusted commercial roofing companies — and now a key partner in a national platform backed by Rampart Exterior Services.

While ownership has evolved, our values haven’t changed: real craftsmanship, certified systems, and a no-shortcuts approach.

Our History: 60+ Years of Roofing in Texas

A legacy of quality, built by a family and carried forward by a team.

1963
Port Sheet Metal founded by Gene Barnett in Port Lavaca, Texas
1960’s - 1970’s
Port Sheet Metal transformed a sheet metal shop into a residential roofing company serving Port Lavaca, Texas and the surrounding communities.
1980-83
In the early 80’s Port Sheet Metal continued to grow in the local residential market and began the transition into the Commercial Market.
1984
Officially incorporated and formed Port Enterprises, Inc.
1984
Opened a second office in Austin, Texas
1984 - 89
In the mid to late 80’s Port Enterprises growth came largely from Government work spanning from Tennessee all the way down to The Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi, Texas.
1990 - 2000
Port continued to grow in the Commercial market and particularly in the large tech industry in the Austin market.
1993
Relocated Port Lavaca office to Corpus Christi, Texas.
2000
Port Enterprises, Inc. became Port Enterprises, Ltd. a limited partnership.
2000-2015
Port continued to grow in both locations (Austin and Corpus) concentrating on the K-12 and Higher Education markets.
2016
Opened office in San Antonio, Texas and continued to grow in the K-12 and Higher Education markets.
2019
Relocated San Antonio office to New Braunfels, Texas.
2020-Present
Port continues to grow with a strong presence as a Prime Contractor on Large Re-Roofing Projects in the K-12 and Higher Education markets.
